Balance

I just took this picture of Robbie and it reminded me of a question that came up when I was in St. Louis presenting to a class that is writing some material for The Fishbowl ... "How do you balance everything you have going on?"

My answer, "I have to prioritize my vocations and the things within each vocation." To this end, Robbie matters more than work so, when he wants to play, we play. There's also plenty of things work wise that would be fun to do, but, in the end, they aren't as important so I put them off and, in some cases, just don't do them at all.

So, how am I doing on this? Well, I've spent a ton of time with Anita and Robbie the past couple days, I'm done with my checklist for today, have done most of the things on the list for tomorrow, and I'm feeling good about both ministry and life right now. I guess balance isn't just a word for the picture, it also describes my life at the moment.
